Unit 8 Blog
The two practices I use now in addition to prayer, is meditation and visualization. This combination works very well for me. I already have a fierce love for people and wish that I could turn everyone's life right side up. Of course, I know that's impossible but I do make the effort to help as many people as I can. I believe that laughter is also good for the soul and do so often because it makes me feel happy inside especially when it starts out as a giggle and blossoms into a wonderful roar.
I'm actually smiling right now because it took me 8 weeks to finally get this blog thing right. I feel so accomplished. Now that I have the theory and I may continue to blog. There is so much to say and talk about as it relates to people.
Hope everyone is having a great week!

Unit 7 Blog
In listening to Meeting Aescleplus, my mind is focused on my grandmother. She is the person who introduced and put me on the path to my spiritual training. She taught me how to look inside at my heart,, about loving-kindness, the importance of knowledge because it breeds wisdom. My Nana was a grand madame with such poise and elegance. Born and bred in Barbados, West Indies, you could not tell her that she was not an English lady. She and I had very long talks about everything. I was my mother's only child and her only grandchild. Both my mother and grandmother taught me about sharing and treating others with respect something I have carried throughout my life. Whenever I think of either of them, it brings such memories that I can feel myself smiling from inside out. Even when scolded, I always knew it was for my best interest. It also made me think before I acted and more than likely saved me from a lot of trouble. Our house was open to all so we always had a cast of characters. Nothing bad but interesting. Nana was like the block guru, lending an ear or a helping hand. I really loved my childhood and feel so very blessed for the positive influence that set the foundation of who I am today.

Unit 6
Greetings everyone,
While I love to blog it's been such a challenge. Hopefully by the end of this class, I'll have it right.
I couldn't do the practice as stated because my darling lives in another state. My husband who is retired lives in our home in TN. I still work and live in NYC. We see each other every other month but speak with each other every day several times staying spiritually connected through our late night chats which are very special. Universal loving-kindness comes to me through prayer where I ask for the same things. Sometimes it's more than once depending on my encounters throughout the day.
The second part (p115), I focus on nutrition. Because certain illnesses run in our family as I have gotten older, my eating habits have changed tremendously. From what I eat to how it's prepared. Every now and then, I may fix something the old-way. I just feel like my body craves for it. But once it's satisfied, I go back to healthy eating. As a sidebar, I don't over indulge during those moments, just want the taste. We have long lifers in our family and I intend to keep up the legacy.

Unit 5
Greetings All,
I composed a post for unit 5 that's on my blogger page, I think. I'm still getting the hang of it. Not sure if everyone saw it. However, I was sent this prayer that is just awesome and pretty much wraps up what we have been studying. Here it is; I hope you enjoy the words as much as I did.

February Prayer | Life's Bricks

The road ahead looks a bit blurry. January has flown by and we're now in February 2013. New Year's resolutions were made and we were off to a good start. Then we looked around and realized despite our good feelings, best efforts and strong attempts at keeping things positive, nothing seems like it changed much, since the new year started. If it has, it's definitely not happening the way you pictured it would. This can be discouraging and cause you to get off course or stop altogether. I'm in the place of fighting off a feeling of discouragement and this evening I had to stop and pray and wanted to share my prayer as I encouraged myself, I felt there might be someone else who needs it too. Remembering that delay is not denial.
My prayer for Us for February: I speak to the gifts that are on the inside of us, to be stirred up in a way that overtakes us, for the benefit of others. I speak against the limitations we've put on ourselves and the one's we've accepted from others. We are walking miracles! We are powerful beyond belief, we are conquerors of the impossible! I speak against fear, doubt, self-sabotage, inadequacy, low self-esteem, laziness, defeat, every single negative word that has ever been spoken to us and the acceptance of failure. I speak peace, joy, love, hope, power and a sound & renewed mind into our lives on a daily basis. This is our new normal. Everything is possible for those who believe. I pray we will go back to believing in ourselves. I pray against every type of distraction that tries to pull us away from our purpose & destiny. I pray no matter what, no matter how it looks, or what we are facing, we don't lose hope. I pray courage over us to keep pressing and a stubbornness to the point of reaching success as the only option we will accept. It's in Jesus' precious name I pray, Amen.
"We die faster not from disease or illness, but from a loss of hope." C. Nzingha
"As life throws you bricks, don't let life beat you with them, build yourself a mansion instead." C. Nzingha
Keep believing. We win! Let's keep each other covered in prayer & love. Please share this with someone who might need it. Read it as often as you might need to be reminded. If there is anything specific you would like me to pray with you about, reply to this email and let me know. Don't forget throughout this month & year...You Win! Go back and start again...it's never too late. Start from NOW!
With Love & Gratitude,
