Hey Class,

I completed the Loving Kindness exercise and wanted to share my findings. I must admit my heart beat rapidly in anticipation not knowing what to expect. However, when I heard the soothing voice of the narrator and the gentle ocean waves, as on cue I began to breath in and out until my heart rate slowed.

You see this exercise is very similar to my practice of prayer which I do when I awaken every morning. I first think of my love ones, then my extended family (friends), and the world. The sick and shutin, the young people and just everybody. I pray for strength, wisdom and knowledge. To help those that I can, I pray for salvation and healing. I think of my little grandson. He is so energetic, curious about everything and wants to learn.

When I finished, I was so relaxed, smiling from the inside out and very peaceful. My description of a mental workout is bringing to bear images of loved ones and other issues, training the mind to absorb the good and release the negative. We as humans often get stuck but the key for me is to let go and let God!

Hello and greetings,

Welcome to my blog! My name is Iris Robertson. I live and work in Brooklyn NY. NYC is truly the "city that never sleeps"; tons of things to do always. It is fast-paced but you can also find time and places to be quiet and reflect. Love to hear your thoughts!
